DOROTHY VOLKERDING

Funeral service for Dorothy Marie Volkerding of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Dissen will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Volkerding, 79, died Tuesday, June 25, 1996, at her home.

She was born Dec. 27, 1916, at New Wells, daughter of Martin and Anna Erlbacher Reisenbichler. She and Nelson Louis Volkerding were married Jan. 19, 1941, at New Wells. He died Jan. 28, 1996.

Volkerding retired from International Shoe Co. in 1958. She and her husband were associated with VIP Industries. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth and Randall Volkerding of Jackson, Donald Volkerding of Spring, Texas; a brother, Elton Reisenbichler of Chaffee; a sister, Anita Morrison of Uniontown; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.
