OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Dorothy M. Vaughn, 80, of Olive Branch died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 22, 1930, in Barlow, Ky., daughter of Chester B. and Elsie May Rollins De Weese. She married Frank Vaughn Sept. 6, 1947, in Harrisburg, Ill. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1999...

OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Dorothy M. Vaughn, 80, of Olive Branch died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 22, 1930, in Barlow, Ky., daughter of Chester B. and Elsie May Rollins De Weese. She married Frank Vaughn Sept. 6, 1947, in Harrisburg, Ill. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1999.

Vaughn was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church where she also taught Sunday school. She had a passion for taking pictures of her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Curt) Sebens of Dongola, Ill.; three sons, Jerry (Susan) Vaughn and Larry (Gloria) Vaughn of Olive Branch, Stan (Becky) Vaughn of Union City, Tenn.; three brothers, Lester De Weese of Granite City, Ill., Charles De Weese of Paducah, Ky., James De Weese of Marissa, Ill.; four sisters, Mary Coleson of Olive Branch, Joann Ritter of New Athens, Ill., Shirley Sams and Joyce Bigham of Olive Branch; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; brother Marion De Weese; and granddaughter Rachel Prater.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Trinity Assembly of God Church.

The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Steve Clardy officiating.

Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family or to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
