Dorothy Thompson

ORAN, Mo. -- Dorothy Jean Thompson, 72, of Oran died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, at the home of her son.

She was born July 2, 1949, in Charleston, Missouri, to Alfred and Virginia Brewer McCutchen. She married Wendall Mason "Bill" Thompson Jr. on Aug. 4, 1973.

She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston, Missouri.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bill; two sons, Christopher (Jeannette) Florek and Joseph Florek of Benton, Missouri; daughter, Jennifer (Steven) Holmes of Perryville, Missouri; brother, Clyde McCutchen of Monon, Indiana; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Sikeston.

Funeral service will be at noon Friday at the church with the Rev. Matthew Berry officiating. Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
