CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Dorothy "Dot" Schott of Charleston died March 29, 2021.

Dorothy was born Dec. 17, 1934, to Florian and Lurdine Zoellner in Perryville, Missouri. She married Leo Schott Sept. 29, 1956, in Perryville where they made their home until 1965 when they moved to Charleston.

She worked in various jobs including Charleston Chamber of Commerce and St. Henry's School secretary but was foremost a homemaker for her family. She was a longtime dedicated member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

Throughout the years, she logged many miles on the streets of Charleston on her bike and on foot. Dorothy loved her family and her flower gardens. No one could leave her home without an offer for food and drink. She embraced spring and every year enjoyed hosting a feast for family and friends during the Dogwood Azalea festival.

She is survived by her husband, Leo Schott of the home; her children, Terry (Kim) Schott, Cathy (Stan) Lawson, Tom (Lynne) Schott, Bobby (Julie) Schott and Henry Rzonca; her grandchildren, Bryan, Eric, Sophie, Rawley and Abigail Schott, Andrew and Claire Rzonca; brothers, Wayne and Michael Zoellner; sister Judy Zoellner; brother-in-law John Schott; and sister-in-laws. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral Mass Thursday at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston

The funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Father David Dohogne, pastor, will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery near Charleston under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Bryan Schott, Eric Schott, AJ Rzonca, Claire Rzonca, Sophie Schott, Abigail Schott and Rawley Schott.
