Dorothy Rapp-Mitchell, 74, 3120 Independence, died Sunday, July 18, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Sept. 23, 1918, in St. Louis, daughter of Frederick William and Lottie Simon Krieger. She attended Washington University in St. Louis.
She and Dr. Harold B. Rapp were married Oct. 9, 1943, in St. Louis. He died May 28, 1982. She later married Arthur F. Mitchell May 2, 1987, in Sun City West, Ariz.
Rapp-Mitchell was active in Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri on the local, district and state level. She was a member of Town and Country and Rose Hill Garden Clubs. She was director of the Southeast District, member of the state board, and was state treasurer six years. She was also a Master Flower Show judge.
She was a member of Southeast Hospital Auxiliary, served as treasurer and vice president of the auxiliary, and was responsible for establishing the beauty salon and other services. She was a member of Southeast Hospital Association, and was elected to the board of directors in 1980.
Rapp-Mitchell was formerly active in the Cape Girardeau Medical Auxiliary, and had served as treasurer. She had also been active in Girl Scouts.
The Mitchells spent the winters in Sun City West, where she was active and a past president of the Missouri Club. She was also a volunteer at Boswell Hospital.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Carol Bumb of St. Louis; a son, Charles Rapp of Nashville, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Jeri Becker of LaVerne, Calif.; a granddaughter, and two stepgrandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Ed Brasington officiating. Entombment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Oak Grove Mausoleum in St. Louis.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
