Dorothy M. Payne, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 24, 2000, at her home. She was born May 1, 1929, at Hahn, Mo., daughter of Earl and Dora Shell Hendershott. She and Leeman Payne were married March 17, 1947. Mr. and Mrs. Payne were owners of General Pest Control Co. She was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church...

Dorothy M. Payne, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 24, 2000, at her home.

She was born May 1, 1929, at Hahn, Mo., daughter of Earl and Dora Shell Hendershott. She and Leeman Payne were married March 17, 1947.

Mr. and Mrs. Payne were owners of General Pest Control Co. She was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Carolyn Vowels of Carbondale, Ill.; two brothers, Charlie Hendershott of Senath, Mo., Jimmie Hendershott of Jackson, Mo.; four sisters, Mabel Dinkens of Grassy, Mo., Laura Tallent and Lillian Rouggly of St. Louis, Clara Hemmann of Uniontown, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Davis officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery at Marble Hill.
