Dorothy Lee Palisch, 86, of Jackson passed away Sunday, June 4, 2006, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 11, 1919, in Jackson, daughter of William Arthur and Ida Mae Browning Rose. She and Elmer Palisch were married Nov. 13, 1938, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas.
She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years; three children; John Palisch (Pat) of Jackson, Mary Rose Palisch James (Earl) of Cape Girardeau, and Susan Palisch Goris (Jan Charles) of Florissant, Mo.
Loving grandchildren are Dan James (Jenny), Gina Good (Jonathan), Grant Goris, Matthew Palisch, and Christopher Palisch.
Dear great-grandchildren are Josh James and Seth James.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Paradise.
Mrs. Palisch lived in the Jackson area her entire life, was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was formerly employed by Bell Telephone, the former Jackson Hosiery Mill, Sears-Roebuck and Fruitland Livestock Auction.
Dorothy was an active volunteer throughout her life, serving St. Paul Lutheran Church as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and Concordia Guild officer. She held district and national offices in Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and was very involved in restoration of the Oliver House in Jackson.
Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, and Thursday after 9 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Jackson City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Lutheran Hour Ministries, St. Paul Lutheran Church Organ Fund, or St. Paul Lutheran School.
