Dorothy Merideth

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Dorothy C. Merideth, 83, of Sikeston died Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, at Sikeston Health Care.

She was born July 12, 1918, at Kennett, Mo., daughter of Martin and Alvina Bles Menz. She and Owen Merideth were married March 25, 1934, at Malden, Mo. He died Aug. 21, 1980.

Merideth worked in the Foster Grandparents Program 16 years. She attended North Acres General Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Ira, Carl and Dale Merideth, all of Sikeston, Kenneth Merideth of Essex, Mo., Don Merideth of Dexter, Mo.; four daughters, JoAnne Hardin of Kewanee, Mo., Karen Wade of Cape Girardeau, Jeris Goetz and Katy Howell of Sikeston; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers, three sisters, and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with Pat Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
