ADVANCE -- Dorothy May Young, 84, of Advance Route 2, died Thursday, June 6, 1991, at Dexter Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 11, 1906, at Carthage, daughter of John Michael and Lula Ann Thomas Pickens.

She was a member of the Church of Christ of Advance.

On Dec. 2, 1933, she married Oliver Young. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 1960.

Survivors are a son, John Michael Young, Advance; four daughters, Betty Jo Thompson, Broken Arrow, Okla., Flora Johnson, Ft. Smith, Ark., Dorothy Hart, Bell City, Becca Gregory, Advance; two sisters, Frieda Davis, Mojave, Calif., Reba Cook, Oklahoma City, Okla.; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

An infant daughter, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with Billy Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery.
