DOROTHY M. MILLER

Graveside service for Dorothy M. Miller of Herrin, Ill., formerly of Cape Girardeau, was held last Thursday at Herrin City Cemetery. The Rev. Sampson Harris officiated, with Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home there in charge of arrangements.

Miller, 91, died Wednesday, Aug. 14, 1991, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin.

She was born May 22, 1900, at Egypt Mills, daughter of Adam and Stella Goss Poe. She married Russell A. Miller May 9, 1920, in Cape Girardeau. He died Nov. 28, 1973.

Miller was a retired seamstress from Hecht's, and member of Hurricane Memorial Baptist Church in Carterville, Ill.

Survivors include two granddaughters, Melinda McHughs of Thebes, Ill., Becky Mifflin of El Reno, Okla.; five great-grandchildren, Angela and Zendra Mifflin of El Reno; Amanda and Jimmy McHughs and Stacy Cheek of Thebes.

She was preceded in death by two sons, William A. and Jesse C. Miller.
