Dorothy C. Irwin, 72, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Lansing, Ill., died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born June 4, 1935, in Vincent, Iowa, the daughter of Hugo C. and Viola Rossman Rossow. She and George W. Irwin were married in February of 1959 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He died Jan. 20, 2006.
She was employed by Norseman Trucking in Clare, Iowa, as a dispatcher. She moved to Cape Girardeau in 2007 from Lansing, where she lived for 20 years. She lived most of her life in Fort Dodge. She was of the Lutheran faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Hollie L. Roth of Millersville; three sisters, Marlys Smith of Fort Dodge, Phyllis Preast of Silver City, N.M., and Carol Massoglia of Tucson, Ariz.; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and a sister.
There will be no visitation or funeral. Burial will be at a later date in Keokuk National Cemetery in Keokuk, Iowa.
