Dorothy Cole

Dorothy O. Cole, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born July 4, 1926, in Wood River, Ill., to Theodore and Edna Steinheimer Ruester. She and Samuel Cole were married Oct. 21, 1967, at Marissa, Ill. He died Oct. 2, 2000.

Dorothy was an estimate clerk 34 years in the engineering department at AT&T. She was a member of AT&T Pioneers many years. She was a member of United Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two brothers, John Ruester of Cape Girardeau and Edward Ruester of Bridgeton, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
