Dorothy Ann Buchheit, 82, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Monticello House.
She was born May 31, 1931, in Jackson, daughter of William H. and Ara Kinder Schroeder. She and Edgar O. Buchheit were married Sept. 12, 1953. He passed away Feb. 18, 2010.
Dorothy was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson. She worked at the former Jackson Hosiery Mill and the former International Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau. She adored children and enjoyed her in-home day care, flowers and gardening.
Loving survivors include three sisters, Bessie Frayne of O'Fallon, Missouri, Wilma Durnall of Springfield, Missouri, and Shirley (Jack) Hahs of Cape Girardeau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and three brothers.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Friday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to New McKendree UMC, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.
