Dorothy Bass

CHAFFEE, Mo.-- Dorothy Jean Bass, 58, of Chaffee died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 23, 1948, in Keyser, W.Va., daughter of John and Effie Clark Shannon. She and Spencer Bass were married April 10, 1984.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Spencer Bass II of Chaffee; six daughters, Robin Parker of Florida, Beatrice Campbell of Las Vegas, Nev., Tammy Bradley of Clearwater, Fla., Ann Crawford of LaCenter, Ky., Ruth Harrison and Samantha Bass of Chaffee; a brother, John Clark of California; three sisters, Marcie Newsome of Utah City, Utah, Darlene Bancink of Star City, W.Va., Mary Gibbons of California; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. today.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with the Rev. John Tolbert officiating.
