Dorotha Mae Allen, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at her home.
She was born Nov. 19, 1945, in Cape Girardeau to Jesse Woodrow Perry and Kirllian Putz Wheeler.
Dorotha worked as a beautician in her early 20s and then went on to become a certified nursing assistant for years to follow.
She was of the Baptist faith and was an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Bridget Huff and Lisa Dow of Cape Girardeau and Amy (Terry) Lesch of Whitewater; son, Kevin (Mohana) Dow of Cape Girardeau; brother, James Richard Perry of Whitewater; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her significant other and childhood sweetheart, Harvey Dow Jr. of Cape Girardeau.
Dorotha was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Linda Renn and Shirley Knight; brother, Michael David Perry; and a grandson, Dewayne Eugene Felty.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 7, at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will follow at noon Friday, July 7, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Debra Tracy officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
