NEW WELLS -- Dorothy Brown, 54, of New Wells died Monday, Feb. 5, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 11, 1941, at New Wells, daughter of Wilbert and Eleonora Dreyer Lorenz. She married Albert Brown Aug. 15, 1959.
Brown was a graduate of Jackson High School.
She moved to New Wells in 1967 from Gordonville. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells and its Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She taught Sunday School for 19 years.
In the early 1960s, Brown worked for the Jackson R-II School District and at the former Ralph Edwards Sportswear in Cape Girardeau. She was a volunteer at Southeast Missouri Hospital Oncology Center.
Survivors are her husband; a son, Richard Brown of New Wells; her father, Wilbert Lorenz of Cape Girardeau, and a brother, Harold Lorenz of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her mother, a son and brother.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Walter Patzwitz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
