EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Doris Thomure, 72, of East Prairie, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie, with Johnny Bell and Dennis Atchely officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.

Thomure, 72, died Sunday, July 7, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Feb. 20, 1924, in Lilbourn, daughter of Martin and Mary Ann Uthoff Ward. She and Arno Thomure were married Oct. 4, 1941.

Thomure was a member of Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Claud and Benny Thomure of East Prairie; a daughter, Joyce Parham of East Prairie; a sister, Mary Clary of Lakeland, Fla.; three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
