Doris Proctor, 89, formerly of Millersville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Monticello House in Jackson, where she had been a resident for 10 years. She was born July 5, 1928, near Millersville, daughter of Ova and Reva N. Yates Wills. She and General "Bus" Proctor were married April 12, 1946, in Jackson. He passed away Nov. 24, 1986...

Doris Proctor, 89, formerly of Millersville, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017, at Monticello House in Jackson, where she had been a resident for 10 years.

She was born July 5, 1928, near Millersville, daughter of Ova and Reva N. Yates Wills. She and General "Bus" Proctor were married April 12, 1946, in Jackson. He passed away Nov. 24, 1986.

Doris was a member of Millersville Baptist Church. She worked at the former Bollinger Feed Store and Nelson General Store of Millersville. For many years, she was the secretary for Snider Cemetery near Millersville.

Loving survivors include a son, Keith Proctor of Friedheim; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Larry Proctor; three half brothers; and two half sisters.

The visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roger Steinbrueck officiating. Interment will be in Lessley Ridge Cemetery on Highway 34 West, next to County Line Baptist Church.

The family suggests contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
