Doris M. Miller, 86, of Jackson passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Monticello House. She was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Cape Girardeau, to Clyde A. and Agnes Armstrong Trickey. Doris was a 1939 graduate of the former College High School in Cape Girardeau. She earned her teaching certificate at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, and then taught for a year near Gordonville. The family owned and operated Jackson Dressed Meat from 1957 to 1971...

Doris M. Miller, 86, of Jackson passed away Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Monticello House.

She was born Feb. 27, 1922, in Cape Girardeau, to Clyde A. and Agnes Armstrong Trickey.

Doris was a 1939 graduate of the former College High School in Cape Girardeau. She earned her teaching certificate at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, and then taught for a year near Gordonville. The family owned and operated Jackson Dressed Meat from 1957 to 1971.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church at Fruitland more than 30 years. She was a member of United Methodist Women and formerly active in a homemakers club.

Loving survivors include three sons, Larry (Patricia) Miller of Jackson, Chuck (Janet) Miller of Cape Girardeau, Jim Miller of Springfield, Mo.; a daughter, Rebecca (David) Aubuchon of Lutz, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Bobby Miller, in 2007.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Barry Winders officiating. Interment will follow in McLain Chapel Cemetery near Oriole.

Memorials are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church.
