RENTON, Wash. — Doris Mae Brown, 81, of Renton passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Feb. 20, 1941, in Old Appleton, the daughter of Virgil and Mamie Lang. She was the sister of Harold Lang, Don Lang, Mary Beth McDaniel, Carolyn Schwartz and Rick Lang.
Doris grew up in Old Appleton and moved to Washington state with her husband, Paul Brown Jr., after his graduation from college. Initially, they settled in Vancouver, but soon moved to Centralia, where she lived most of her adult life and where she raised her family.
Doris was a loving wife and beloved mother. She was kind, loyal and a friend to all she knew. She loved her family passionately, especially her grandchildren.
She loved baking and gardening. Her favorites were her dahlias and rhododendrons that filled her yard in Centralia. She was extremely active in the Centralia Emblem Club.
She is survived by Paul Brown Jr., her husband of 60 years; their three children, Dennis Brown of San Antonio, Tim Brown of Fort Worth, Texas, and Michele Brown of Renton; seven grandchildren, Sarah Montes, Danielle (Aaron) Alvarez, Tegan Brown, Elizabeth Brown, Noah Brown, Ryann Ortega and Addison Ortega; and five great-granddaughters, Eva Ortega, Hayley and Xena Montes, Lily Brown and Milia Alvarez.
Doris was preceded in death by granddaughters, Ayla and Ruth Brown.
A memorial service will be held in June 2023 in Missouri.
