DORIS BALSMANN

PERRYVILLE -- Doris M. Hansen Balsmann, 70, of Perryville died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Randolph County, Ill., daughter of Pius G. and Anna Belshea Mattingly. She and Willard H. Hansen were married Aug. 23, 1947. He died Dec. 20, 1988. She later married Walter L. Balsmann Dec. 4, 1993.

Balsmann was retired from International Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and American Legion Auxiliary Post 133.

Survivors include her husband; a stepson, Patrick Balsmann of Effingham, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Susan Jasper of Fenton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. today, and Friday from 6:30-9:30 a.m. The parish wake will be at 7 tonight, and American Legion Auxiliary wake at 7:15. The rosary will be recited at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
