Donnie Wayne Grubb, 70, of Cape Girardeau died at 1:13 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, Illinois. He was born Feb. 6, 1950, in Cape Girardeau to Orlie Nemar and Almeta Scruggs Grubb. He married Brenda Marie Wehmeyer on Sept. 11, 1971. She preceded him in death Oct. 13, 2009...

Donnie Wayne Grubb, 70, of Cape Girardeau died at 1:13 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, Illinois.

He was born Feb. 6, 1950, in Cape Girardeau to Orlie Nemar and Almeta Scruggs Grubb. He married Brenda Marie Wehmeyer on Sept. 11, 1971. She preceded him in death Oct. 13, 2009.

Donnie was a painter in the union for over 20 years. He was a great artist and musician, and he loved playing the dobro. He was a jokester, enjoying playing tricks on his friends and family.

He is survived by his son, Shawn Grubb of Cape Girardeau; daughter, LaDonna Marie (Jacqueline Harper-Grubb) Grubb of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brooke, Katoshia, Keasha, Kristen and Megan; two stepgrandchildren, Jaydon and Warrick Harper; six siblings, Lisa Schafer Amos of Scott City; Harley Grubb of Evansville, Indiana; Randy Grubb of Benton, Missouri; Linda Umfleet of Chaffee, Missouri; Teresa George of Dundee, Mississippi; and Brenda Garner of Advance, Missouri; many other relatives and friends.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Brenda Grubb.

Services will be private. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, Illinois.

Memorials may be made to the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri.
