BENTON, Mo. — Donna Jean Estes, 66, of Benton passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, surrounded by her husband and daughter, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 3, 1956, in Belleville, Illinois, to the late Amos and Voneline "Polly" Mouser. She and Lloyd Estes were married April 2, 1977, in Scott City. Donna moved to the Scott City area as an early teen and spent most of her adult life in the area. She graduated from Scott City High School in 1976.
Donna impacted so many young lives as a dedicated day care teacher and director in the Southeast Missouri area. "Miss Donna" was loved by many. She also spent several years working at Cape Radiology Group in the billing department.
Loving survivors include her husband of more than 45 years, Lloyd Estes of Benton; a daughter, Shelly (Michael) Dobrick and children, Grant and Kyle of Georgetown, Indiana; three brothers, Gary (June) Mouser of Manchester, Michigan, Richard (Debbie) Mouser of Perryville, Missouri, and Greg (Michelle) Mouser of Belleville; two sisters, Joyce (Dale) Johnson of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Sandy (Brady) Henson of Olathe, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews.
Donna was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Manning, and brother, Ronnie Mouser.
A celebration of Donna's life will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, at Father's Arms Fellowship in Scott City. Doors will open at 10 a.m. for visiting, and the celebration will begin at 11 a.m. The Rev. Kenny Strong will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, it was Donna's wish that donations be made to either St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Haven House-St. Louis.
Spring Valley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
