ORAN, Mo. -- Donna Albee passed away Friday, May 8, 2020, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri.
She was born June 13, 1946, to Chester and Irene Carr of Oran. She attended school in Oran and graduated from Oran High School in 1964.
She married the love of her life, Paul Dennis Albee, on Aug. 21, 1966. They lived in St. Louis and then moved to Oran. On April 23, 1973, they had a daughter, Teresa.
Donna worked at the Oran Hat Factory, was co-owner of Albee Auto Supply and drove a school bus for Scott County School District for many years.
In her young adult years, she enjoyed boating at Lake Wappapello, riding horses and coaching T-ball and softball. She was a Girl Scout leader and wrangler for Camp Cherokee Ridge.
Donna and Dennis were active participants in the Promenaires Square Dance Club and Gold Wing Road Riders Association Chapter I motorcycle club, where they were couple of the year in 2005 and 2017. Donna and Dennis attended many Gold Wing conventions and rallies throughout Missouri and the United States and made many friends through the years.
She enjoyed planning and hosting parties, traveling, Christmas, driving her Honda Gold Wing trike, camping and spending time with her grandson, Clay.
Donna was a very caring person. She cared for her parents until their passing, and later was Dennis' caregiver until they moved to Excelsior Springs, Missouri, in November 2018, and he was placed in a nursing home. Donna was very devoted to Dennis and was by his side daily until his passing Nov. 3, 2019.
Donna is survived by her brother, Ronnie (Donna) Carr of Oran; daughter, Teresa (Chad) Clevenger; and grandson, Clay of Excelsior Springs.
She will be missed by many.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests those attending wear a mask to the visitation and funeral service for the protection of all participants.
