UNITY, Ill. -- Donald E. Wilkerson, 60, of Unity, died Tuesday, May 28, 1996, on arrival at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Oct. 11, 1935, in Chicago, son of Gerald and Ruby Dillman Wilkerson. He and Joan Lubner were married Dec. 10, 1966.
Wilkerson retired as a mechanic with Otis Elevator Co., and has farmed since 1973. He was a member of Cairo Elks Lodge, Alexander-Pulaski Farm Bureau, and International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 2.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, David Wilkerson of North Lake, Daniel Wilkerson of Addison, Steven Wiesenmayer of Cairo; three daughters, Susan Hileman and Sharyl Kobler of Cairo, Cynthia Caldwell of Tamms; his mother of Unity; a sister, Joan Orsburn of Tamms; a brother, Gerald Wilkerson of Algonquin, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today, and Saturday until service time.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerome Fortenberry officiating. Burial will be in McCrite Cemetery.
