FERGUSON -- Donald Slemmer, 62, of Ferguson and formerly of Jackson, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 1996, at the Christian Northeast Hospital.
He was born Sept. 10, 1933, at Jackson to Julius and Merle Bazzell Slemmer. He married Alma Dickerson on April 29, 1960.
He worked at McDonnell Douglas Corp. in St. Louis for 30 years.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and is a Korean War veteran. He was in the Air Force Reserve from 1960 to 1968.
He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Jackson.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, Steven Slemmer and David Slemmer, both of Ferguson; a daughter, Donna Slemmer of Ferguson; his mother, Merle Seabaugh of Fredericktown; a sister, Rosa Lee Dunn of St. Ann; a stepbrother, Cletus Seabaugh of Fredericktown; a stepsister, Eula Mae Sanford of Jefferson City; and a granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father, stepfather and brother.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Bethel Baptist Church in Jackson, with the Revs. Don Slatton and Tom Bray officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
