TAMMS, Ill. -- Donald R. Murphy, 62, of Tamms died Thursday, April 10, 1997, near Tamms, the result of a shooting.
He was born June 18, 1934, in Mound City, the son of Raymond and Vina Reno Murphy. He was married to Norma Kay Heater on June 17, 1956. She died May 2, 1993.
He was a member of Caledonia Lodge 47, AF & AM of Pulaski, the Anna Moose Lodge and the Operating Engineers Local 318 in Marion.
He is survived by a daughter, Melinda Bigham of Tamms; three brothers, Lyle Murphy of Olmsted, Bob Murphy of Garden Plains, Kan., and Leon Murphy of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Peggy Jean Parks of Plantation, Fla.; and a grandson.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Bill Fox officiating. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery near Dongola.
Friends may call at the Crain Funeral Home in Tamms after 5 p.m. Sunday.
