DONALD PURSE

Donald Purse, 77, 1930 Grandview, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Friday, April 7, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He had lived in Cape Girardeau for five months.

Purse was born March 20, 1918, in Seaford, Del., son of Robert E. Lee Purse and Lena Scott. On June 27, 1937, he married Mary Williams in Norwalk, Ohio.

Purse was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church in Toledo. He had been a supervisor for A&P Tea Co. for 43 years in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and New York. He retired in 1974 as a sales manager.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Donald Purse Jr. of Cape Girardeau and Daniel Purse of Denver; three daughters, Elizabeth Mariaca of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Pamela Hotop of Cape Girardeau and Laura Miller of Spruce Pine, N.C.; two brothers, Henry Purse of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Robert Lee Purse Jr. of Vero Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Florence Straight of Toledo.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. The funeral service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Family members will officiate.
