Donald Ray Hurt, 76, of Jackson died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 10, 1947, in Messler to James Leroy and Opal Griffith Hurt. He and Marian Perez were married Jan. 18, 1998, in Manila, Philippines.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Donald was a mail carrier for U.S. Postal Service in Cape Girardeau.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 1111, VFW Post No. 3838 and Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Perez-Hurt of Jackson; two sons, Bradley James Hurt of Cape Girardeau and Scott Lawrence (Amber) Hurt of Evansville, Indiana; a daughter, Angela Hurt of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Frank and Keith Hurt, both of Jackson; a sister, Brenda Hurt; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., parish prayers and rosary will begin at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 19, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or American Cancer Society.
