Donald Howard

Donald H. Howard, 81, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 4, 1937, in Cape Girardeau to the late Lester and Ethel Burns Howard.

Donald and Betty J. Thomas were married Dec. 29, 1955, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death Dec. 12, 1991.

Donald served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from Procter & Gamble as a fire inspector. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Loving survivors include his son, Donald (Margaret) Howard Jr. of Jackson; daughters, Nancy (John) Hagy of Morley, Missouri, and Jennifer Howard of Cape Girardeau; sister, Marilyn (Donnie) May of Farmington, Missouri; three grandchildren, Charisse Parrish, Matt (Halie) Howard and Alissa Howard; three great-grandchildren, Brittany and Austin Smith and Tyler Howard; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Billy Carter officiating. Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum, with full military honors.
