CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Donald Wade Freeman, 64, of Chaffee died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo. He was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Sikeston, Mo., to the late Ulyess Lee and Helen Mae Thomas Freeman. He and Ruth Ann Puckett were married March 1, 1968...

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Donald Wade Freeman, 64, of Chaffee died Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

He was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Sikeston, Mo., to the late Ulyess Lee and Helen Mae Thomas Freeman. He and Ruth Ann Puckett were married March 1, 1968.

Donald retired as a fork lift driver at Nestle-Purina in Bloomfield, Mo. He was baptized at the Church of Christ in Morley, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Wade Freeman of Westmoreland, Tenn.; two sisters, Linda Kidd and Teresa Ervin of Chaffee; and four grandchildren, Adam, Ashley, Alexis and Grace Ann Freeman.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with Bill Bradley officiating. Burial will be at noon in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military rites conducted by Missouri Military Honors.
