Donald Keith Butler, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at Heartland Care Rehab Center.
He was born March 5, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, son of William and Inez Boswell Butler. He and Leona "Peggy" Wilhelm were married July 31, 1948, at Scott City, Mo.
Don was a lifetime resident of Cape Girardeau. He worked at Cape Paint and Glass 15 years, prior to working 10 years at Republic Steel Corp. in Kansas City, Mo.
He served in the U.S. Army from Jan. 11, 1943, to Dec. 5, 1945.
Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Tracy Butler of McKinney, Texas; twin daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and John Eck of Cape Girardeau, Peggy and Roy Johnson of Fort Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren, Madison Johnson and Amber Johnson of Fort Collins, Austin Butler and Reagan Butler of McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home after 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
