William Donwood “Don” Vied, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at his home.
He was born Sept. 20, 1945, in Lyon County, Kentucky, to Norwood and Nealie Sanders Vied.
On the farm and in the woods, he developed a great love for the outdoors and nature and began hunting at a very young age. It was a passion that he carried throughout life and shared with many others.

In 1968, Don graduated from Murray State University with a degree in agriculture. Shortly after, he taught biology at Caldwell County High School in Princeton, Kentucky. In 1972, he and Sharon moved to Cape Girardeau, where they welcomed their daughter, Donna, and where they remained and were active in many outdoor excursions, usually involving hunting or shooting sports.
Survivors include a daughter, Donna (Craig) Greco of Hamilton, Virginia; brother, Jackie (Paula) Vied of Woodbury, Tennessee; and two grandchildren.
