Dolores Slaughter

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Dolores "Dolly" Slaughter, 93, of Chaffee passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born June 19, 1923, in Oran, Missouri, to the late Paul and Clara Pobst Halter Sr. She married Clarence "Bud" Slaughter, and he preceded her in death April 3, 2001.

Dolores was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee and was a member of the Daughters of St. Ambrose.

Survivors include a daughter, Jeana Sue (David) Taylor of Branson, Missouri; a grandson, Joshua Ziegler, and a great-grandson, Dimitri Ziegler, both of Eugene, Oregon.

She also was preceded in death by two infant children, Mary Catherine and Clarence Wilton Slaughter Jr.; two brothers, Paul Halter Jr. and Michael Halter; and a grandson, Justin Ziegler.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be at Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.
