Dolores Ann Myer, 84, of Jackson, with her children by her side, met her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the Arbors in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 17, 1935, in Perry County, Missouri, daughter of Edmund H. "Bud" and Mildred Klaus Ruesler. She and Robert Eugene "Bob" Myer were married Jan. 18, 1957, in Jackson. He passed away Dec. 15, 1998.
Dolores graduated from Perryville High School.
She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, Missouri. Dolores was a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, and was an active member in the adult church choir, served as a Sunday School Teacher, attended various Bible study classes, she was a member of the Ladies Aid and shared her many talents by volunteering her time and work in various work for the church.
Her children would describe her as being a loving, nurturing mother.
She loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress, she even made her children's clothes and was known to have her sewing machine set up at the shop on the days she would work with Bob at the paint shop.
Dolores was an excellent cook and gardener. She enjoyed walking and bowling and the time shared with her bowling league friends. Some of her favorite times were luncheon get-togethers with the neighborhood ladies.
Dolores was devoted to and loved to read her Bible. The journey of her life was centered around God and her family. The highlight and love of her life was taking care of her family.
Loving survivors include four children, a son, Keith (Faye) Myer; three daughters, Pam (Butch) Wright, Gina (Doug) Kaminskey, all of Jackson, and Cara (Tim) Walker of Dallas, North Carolina; nine grandchildren, Ashley (Scott) Lane, Taylor (Nathan) Leoni, Jordan (James Curtis) Poore, Dana (Judd) Hagans, Kaci (T.J) Bishop, Brannon (Paden) Wright, Cammie (Trent) Essner, Chelsea (Kellan) True and Bryson Walker; and 17 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years; and a brother, Kermit Ruesler.
The family will honor Dolores with a private service at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. The Rev. Joshua Schmidt will officiate. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
