Doily D. Hope, 87, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Sept. 16, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born April 25, 1907, at Bennett, Mo., daughter of Felix Whitwell and Virginia Logan Whitwell.
She married Joseph Chester Hope March 6, 1931, in Oregon County, Mo. He preceded her in death March 29, 1981.
She was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star at Doniphan.
She helped operate Hope Toggery and Dry Cleaners in Doniphan a number of years, and taught school in the Doniphan area.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Fry, Cape Girardeau; Emma Green, Jonesboro, Ark., and Virginia Tyson, Springfield, Mo.; a sister, Creola Braschler of Fort Myers, Fla.; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Service will be held Monday at Ford & Sons Mt Auburn Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Doniphan Cemetery, where a graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
