ADVANCE -- D.J. Cecil, 73, of Advance, a retired farmer, died Oct. 10 at his home.

He was born Sept. 6, 1919, in Hayti to Dennis W. and Nora Belle Glasscox Cecil, both of whom preceded him in death.

Cecil was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.

He is survived by one son, Gary Cecil of Brownwood, Mo.; two brothers, Carl Cecil of Malden and Benny Cecil of Lilbourn; three sisters, Kathleen Pfeffer of Cape Girardeau, Mary Coomer of Kentucky and Earline Spears of Indianapolis, Ind.; one grandson and two stepgrandsons.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Page officiating. Interment will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
