Dillman N. Putz, 95, formerly of Pocahontas, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girar­deau.
He was born Dec. 11, 1911, in Pocahontas, Mo., son of Henry and Christiana Ruehling Putz. He and Viola Kurre were married Sept. 22, 1929. She died Nov. 13, 1999.
Putz retired from Standard Oil Company with 33 years of service. He started as a driver, delivering oil to farmers in Perry County. He then worked his way up to advertising manager for the company.
He was a longtime member of Emanuel United Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Loyd of Cadiz, Ky., Nancy Kettner of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son and a granddaughter.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
