DONGOLA, Ill. -- Dick L. Smith, 43, of Highland Park, Ill., formerly of Dongola, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, at his home.

He was born Dec. 29, 1953, in Anna, Ill., He graduated from Waukegan High School and was employed at Sunset Foods in Highland Park. He was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his parents, Curtis and Faye Smith of Dongola; five sisters, Iris Modglin of Ullin, Kay DalPonte of Highland Park, Cathy Garrey of Lake Forest, Nancy Kiddle of Naples, Fla., Pam Inglish of Kenosha, Wis.; and a brother, Mike Smith of Kenosha.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with the Rev. George McCommons officiating. Burial will be in the Meisenheimer-Mount Olive Cemetery.

Friends may call Monday after 9 a.m. at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.
