Dianne L. Payne Johnson, 55, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at her home. She was born Dec. 7, 1960, in Doniphan, Missouri, the daughter of Bob J. and Wanda Bell Payne. Dianne L. Payne Johnson, 55, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at her home.

She was born Dec. 7, 1960, in Doniphan, Missouri, the daughter of Bob J. and Wanda Bell Payne.

Dianne attended LaCroix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. She was a former member of First Baptist Church and Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

She was employed 15 years in human resources at Southeast Missouri State University, retiring in 2015. Dianne's legacy was loving and caring for others.

Loving survivors include her son, Lucian Johnson of Kennesaw, Georgia; two nephews, Miles Callahan of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Caleb Callahan of Cape Girardeau; an uncle, Lucian W. (Helen) Bell of Virginia; cousins Doug and John Bell; and an aunt, Lois Walker (and family) of West Plains, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Deborah Paist; her stepfather, Joe Kulenguski; and her grandparents.

Visitation will be from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Elliott Swoboda officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
