Diana Gay "Honey" Campbell, 64, daughter and stepdaughter of the late Georgie and "Papa" Dick Shirley, was born Sept. 1, 1957, in San Jose, California, and departed this life Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, at her home in Cape Girardeau.

She was a long-time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cape Girardeau. She worked in grocery for many years and managed the Fill-up Mart, 1320 W. Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau. She worked night audit at the Pear Tree Inn in Cape Girardeau, but her passion was training dogs, both for police work and basic obedience.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brandy Dianne Campbell.

She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Gerald Campbell of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Keri (Derek) Hurt of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Paige Kirn of Cape Girardeau, and Aaliyah, D.J. and Devin Hurt of San Antonio; sisters, Phyllis Lawrence of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Janet Wilson of Kansas; sister-in-law, Emily Robinson of Midwest City, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, -nephews and one great-grandniece.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

A celebration of life service will follow at 3 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Ellen Gurnon officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be given to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1820 Perryville Road, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
