LEEMON -- Dewey Cotner, 71, of Salem died Wednesday, April 9, 1997, at Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. He was born June 12, 1925, at Leemon, son of Arthur and Daisy King Cotner. He first married Glenda Pulliam. He later married Karen Arisman. Cotner was a member of Pipefitters Local in St. Louis, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II...

LEEMON -- Dewey Cotner, 71, of Salem died Wednesday, April 9, 1997, at Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born June 12, 1925, at Leemon, son of Arthur and Daisy King Cotner. He first married Glenda Pulliam. He later married Karen Arisman.

Cotner was a member of Pipefitters Local in St. Louis, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and American Legion. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jim Cotner of St. Charles, Eddie Cotner of High Ridge, David Cotner of Medford, Ore., Roger Cotner of Chaffee; two brothers, Wilma Chism of Carbondale, Ill., Margaret Friese of Jackson; three brothers, Glenn and Leroy Cotner of Jackson, Linus Cotner of St. Charles; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, brother and great-grandson.

Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at James and Gahr Funeral Home in Salem.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
