Dewayne Brown, 64, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

He was born April 28, 1947 in New Madrid County, Mo., to Bennie Francis and Nora Francis Brown. He and Sandra Lufcy Brown were married June 19, 1971 in Cape Girardeau.

Dewayne was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1965 before joining the U.S. Navy where he served during the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver for Sam Tanksley, Estes-Cooper Oil, United Oil and MFA Oil for 23 years before working part-time for Wallace Oil Co. He loved auctions and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra "Susie" Brown of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Kevin (Dewanna) Brown of Burfordville and Thomas Brown of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Brenda Davis of Benton, Mo.; a sister-in -law, Vickie Brown of Lincoln, Ala.; two grandchildren, Austin Brown and Benjamin Brown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank Townsend officiating.

Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family in lieu of flowers.
