HALIFAX, Nova Scotia — Robert Dennis Brown, 50, of Halifax, formerly of McClure, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, on Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Dennis was born March 28, 1974, in Cape Girardeau to Dale and Betty Kiehne Brown.
Dennis graduated from Shawnee High School in 1992. He attended Shawnee Community College and Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He worked in the field of engineering most of his career and was currently employed as a supply-chain manager at EastPoint Engineering/ Sustane Tech.
On Dec. 21, 2004, Dennis married Julia Cairns of Prince Edward Island. They lived in Alexandria, Virginia, for a time before settling in Halifax. They loved to spend their time cooking, golfing and boating, as well as spending time with their dog, Floki.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Julia Brown; mother, Betty Brown; brother, Steve (Renee) Brown; sister, Paula (Brad) Beal; brother-in-law, Michael (Anne) Cairns; sister-in-law, Jennifer Cairns; mother-in-law, Nancy Cairns; nieces, Tayler (Jeremy) Fazil and Reagan (Jake) Day; nephews, Zach (Tayla) Beal, William and Patrick Cairns; great-nephews, Eli Fazil and Brooks Beal; and great-niece, Sophia Fazil.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Brown; father-in-law, Harold Cairns; and grandparents, Donner and Etta Brown and Paul and Helen Kiehne.
A service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dennis’ honor to Lindsey Cemetery, 34422 Grapevine Trail, McClure, IL 62957.
