GIPSY, Mo. -- Delphia "Sis" Jackson, 78, of Gipsy passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 6, 1935, in Arab, Missouri, and is the daughter of Beuford West and Stella Ward.
Sis was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church in Zalma, Missouri. She worked at an International Hat Factory in Marble Hill, Missouri, and owned and operated a general store in Gipsy many years.
Sis and Jerry Jackson were united in marriage Oct. 24, 1953, in Marble Hill.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim Tanner of Gipsy; three brothers, Peck West of Lowndes, Missouri, Pete West of Zalma and Donnie West of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Lois Gebro of California and Veda Deckard of Advance, Missouri. Along with one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy West.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Danny Collins and the Rev. Lewis Scott officiating. Interment will be in Berrong Cemetery near Gipsy.
