DELORES HAWKINS

CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Delores Ann Hawkins of Charleston will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Richard Lause will officiate, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

Hawkins, 48, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, following an extended illness.

She was born Dec. 24, 1948, at Charleston, daughter of Mike and Pauline Hart Thurman. She and Robert Hawkins were married Jan. 29, 1966.

Hawkins was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Charles Hawkins of Charleston; a daughter, Chris Bryant of St. Louis; her mother of Charleston; a brother, John Thurman of Charleston; six sisters, Rosie McClendon, Paula Meeks, Gail Faire, Martha Humphreys, Mary Vinson, Maxine Gears, all of Charleston; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, a sister and two brothers.
