Delmer McClain

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Delmer Paul McClain, 91, of Chaffee passed away Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 17, 1927, in Puxico, Missouri, to the late William and Mandy Cook McClain. He married Juanita Jean Haney on Sept. 25, 1946, and she preceded him in death Oct. 28, 2009.

He was a retired maintenance man with Caterpillar in Joliet, Illinois. He was a member of Greater Vision Pentecostal Church in Chaffee. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1945 to 1949.

He is survived by two sons, Donald (Terri) McClain of Chaffee and Mitchell (Annette) McClain of Wilmington, Illinois; two daughters, Dianna McClain and Sharon (John) Fioranelli, both of Chaffee; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jo Ann Dennison and Peggy Barlow.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Poe officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery near Arbor.
