Delmar "Joe" Cruce, 64, of Cape Girardeau, died at 5:05 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau. He was born June 14, 1946, in Cape Girardeau to Edward and Mary (Mungle) Cruce. He married Betty Renner on April 22, 1977. He was known as the "demolition man" as he tore down many buildings in the Cape Girardeau area...

Delmar "Joe" Cruce, 64, of Cape Girardeau, died at 5:05 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 14, 1946, in Cape Girardeau to Edward and Mary (Mungle) Cruce. He married Betty Renner on April 22, 1977.

He was known as the "demolition man" as he tore down many buildings in the Cape Girardeau area.

Delmar is survived by his wife; one brother, Raymond Cruce of Michigan; two sisters, Evelyn Ricketts of Reynolds, Mo., Dean Hadley of Cape Girardeau; one half-sister, Nina Edwards of Cape Girardeau; six nephews; and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with the Rev. Chris Clifton officiating.
