ANNA, Ill. -- Dellis Pierce Buzbee, 89, of Anna died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at Union County Hospital. He was born April 6, 1907, in Vienna, Ill., to S. Archie and Laura Pierce Buzbee. ANNA, Ill. -- Dellis Pierce Buzbee, 89, of Anna died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997, at Union County Hospital.

He was born April 6, 1907, in Vienna, Ill., to S. Archie and Laura Pierce Buzbee.

He married Maude Pender on June 14, 1930, at Westfield, Ill.

He was a graduate of Vienna High School and earned his bachelor of science and master of science degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna, a charter member of the Anna Kiwanis Club, and the Kappa Phi Kappa education fraternity.

He formerly was a school teacher and administrator at Tygett, Ware and Cypress high schools and a former principal at Odin grade and high schools and Wolf Lake grade school. He taught education classes at SIU and Shawnee Community College.

He was a former manager of Gilmore Asphalt Co. and market master at Anna Fruit and Produce Market.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Kenneth V. Buzbee of Makanda, Ill.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son and three brothers.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Anna with the Rev. Larry Shacklee officiating. Burial will follow in Anna Cemetery.
