Della Marceil Buckman, age 80, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., passed away Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 4, 1918, in Webster County, Kentucky, daughter of Elmer Virgil and Nettie Elizabeth Bradley Jenkins. She and J.W. "Buck" Buckman were married on Sept. 16, 1939, in Morganfield, Ky., on their lunch hour. She attended Murray State College...

Della Marceil Buckman, age 80, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., passed away Thursday, June 3, 1999, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 4, 1918, in Webster County, Kentucky, daughter of Elmer Virgil and Nettie Elizabeth Bradley Jenkins. She and J.W. "Buck" Buckman were married on Sept. 16, 1939, in Morganfield, Ky., on their lunch hour. She attended Murray State College.

Della was a member of the First Christian Church of Cape Girardeau, a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, and member of the Latin Club. She was a good hunting partner, an excellent dove & duck hunter, an excellent cook, a wonderful wife, the best of mothers, and a loving and adoring Grandmother and Great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband, J.W. "Buck" Buckman of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" M. Williams of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Patricia "Patty" S. Burke of Cedar Hill, Mo., and Debbie Kay Butler of, Henderson, Ky.; one son, John "Johnny" R. Buckman of Alaska; one brother, Elbert Jenkins of Corydon, Ky.; one sister, Martha Rigdon of Evansville, In.; four grandchildren, Deanna Trousdale, Danny Burke, Gabie Burke, and Kirk Buckman; and 4 great-grandchildren, Peggy, Brenna, and Jessica Trousdale, and Timothy Burke.

She was preceded in death in 1998, by one son, James William "Billy" Buckman of Drury, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at the Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel, 829 N. West End Blvd., at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 1999, with the Rev. Stephaine Curran officiating. Friends may call at the Chapel from 11:00 a.m. Sunday until time of service.

Burial will follow in the Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

The family requests that memorials be made to the First Christian Church, 2411 Abbey Rd., Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63701.
